After months of obstruction, we've made real progress on a budget deal and for the first time I'm optimistic we can see the light at the end of the tunnel.
With you helping lead the fight to fund Pennsylvania public schools, I've secured a commitment from Republican leaders for a historic increase in education funding.
While we're still working out the details, I am hopeful we're nearing the end of this stalemate, and will soon be able to show Pennsylvanians that education is once again our top priority.
There is no doubt in my mind that we would not be here today if it wasn't for the actions taken by campaign supporters like you who stayed involved long after the election ended. Since last November you have combined to generate 103,095 actions on WolfForPa.com in support of creating jobs that pay, schools that teach, and government that works.
That's incredible, and it doesn't include all the phone calls and conversations you've had in support of a real budget for Pennsylvania with your friends and neighbors.
As Governor of Pennsylvania, I could not be more proud of the work you've done to help make historic funding for public schools a reality.
Thanks to you, we'll be able to turn the page on the devastating cuts made to education over the last four years. We're beginning to make education once again the priority it should be so that our children can compete in the 21st century economy.
We knew changing Harrisburg wasn't going to be easy, and even though we're nearing an agreement that will fund education, there are more structural issues we must find a way to address. That means we need to be ready to keep working and fighting for the reforms Pennsylvania needs to really move ahead.
Thank you for helping me make this happen.
A very grateful Governor,
Tom Wolf
